3 OF THE BEST TIPS TO GET STARTED
Getting started in your fitness journey can be very confusing and scary! With advice from everyone telling you different things, it's no wonder the vast majority who sign up for a gym membership in January don't last past February. With ourSemi Private Personal Training in Dubai and our team support you're already on your way to success, but here are my Top 3 Tips to help you be successful in the long run!
Tip #1
Set a realistic goal.
Your goal should be specific, measurable and have a deadline. “I want to lose weight” is not good enough, you should find a specific goal, with a date. “I want to lose 20lbs before my trip this summer” is much better.
You should write down your goal. In a study done at Harvard, they found that this made a huge impact on how successful you were at reaching your goals. This applies to anything in life. Once you’ve written your goal down, you can then plan a roadmap to get to your goal. “I need to lose 2lbs per week until my trip. In order to do this, I will need to do weight training 3 times per week, and cardio workouts on another 2 days per week”
Tip #2
Don’t compare yourself to others.
The other people at the gym all have a different story. Focus on your program, and on technique. Don’t worry about going as heavy as the person next to you who’s been training for longer, worry about giving it your best every time you train. This is the best way to improve yourself.
When you start weight training, the most important is to master the technique and which muscles you feel working. Once you can do this properly, start going heavier, but never sacrifice form for ego. The last thing you want is to get injured, which could set you back a few weeks, or maybe even months behind schedule!
Tip #3
Approach your healthy lifestyle like an athlete.
There are many good things to learn from successful athletes and business people. From years of being surrounded by all kinds of people in the gym, I can tell you that the ones who get the best results are the ones who train the hardest!
Once you have your program and your nutrition plan, approach it like you mean it. That’s when you will progress and see results. Every time you set foot in the gym, be ready to give it all you got. No one can do it for you, only you can change your body.
Another quality to learn from successful people is to stay positive. Everyone fails, it’s normal. Whether it’s in business, in your nutrition, in the gym, know that it’s ok. What’s important is that you get back up, and try again. The most successful people never got to where they got on the first try, they were simply the ones who never gave up!
